Stay in clinic

2 h after the procedure, you can leave the clinic; it is recommended to stay for 12-24 h (rest and cooling the treated area reduce swelling and shorten the recovery period);

Medications:

  • Over-the-counter painkillers (patients usually do not complain of pain);
  • For lips, it is recommended to use a lip balm with vitamin E;
  • For bruising, arnica ointments can be used;

Recovery period:

  • Swelling and bruising usually last no longer than 14-21 days;
  • Return to mental work and driving after 1 day.
  • Return to physical work after 3 days;
  • Engaging in sports after 3 days;
  • A compression plaster is applied to the fat donor site (lateral thigh surface, abdomen or other), which should be removed after 3 days. This area is tender, swollen, and bruises may appear there for several days. Very rarely, and in very slim individuals, fat loss may be visible at the donor site.

Duration of the effect

The duration of the effect is very individual: depending on the area, the effect can be expected for 6-24 months. Shortest in the lips, longest in the cheeks;

Unavoidable consequences:

discomfort/ pain, swelling, bruising; By design, some of the fat integrates permanently.

Complications

overcorrection (after some time, the excess fat will be absorbed); insufficient correction (may require another procedure); palpable lumps under the skin (usually subside after massage); hematoma, infection – extremely rare, as with any injection.
