Stay in clinic

recommended to stay for 12-24 h (until the next day);

Recovery period:

  • Swelling and bruising usually last no longer than 14-21 days;
  • Return to intellectual work and driving after a few days.
  • Return to physical work after 3 weeks (avoid excessive leg strain);
  • Playing sports after 3 weeks
  • After fat injection (calves), rest is required – no massaging or excessive touching for 3 weeks;
  • For 1 month, continuous wearing of compression stockings is recommended to reduce swelling and bruising and stabilize the fat in its place.

Follow-up examinations:

  • after 7 days (local condition check, suture removal);
  • After 3 and 12 months, the final result of the procedure

Medications:

  • Over-the-counter painkillers (patients usually do not complain of pain);
  • After 7 days, a cycle of 7-10 massages is recommended for the area from which fat was harvested (liposuction site), the site

Duration of the effect

is very individual; there are no reliable scientific studies determining the percentage of fat that will integrate and provide a lasting effect;

Unavoidable consequences:

  • discomfort/ pain,
  • swelling,
  • bruising,
  • transient skin sensation disturbances in the fat harvesting area.

Complications

  • hematoma,
  • seroma formation in the wound,
  • skin irregularities at the fat harvesting site,
  • overcorrection (after some time, the excess fat will be absorbed);
  • insufficient correction (may require another procedure);
  • palpable lumps under the skin (usually resolve after massage);
  • infection – may require therapeutic antibiotic administration;
  • Dissatisfaction with the procedure's outcome (subjective feeling).
